Diagnostic Fee Disputes: Get the Signature Before You Open the Machine
The customer signs for the diagnostic fee before troubleshooting starts. After the diagnosis the job can carry up to three estimates — and the one he signs becomes the invoice, while the others stay on the job as a record of what was offered.
Nobody argues about the diagnostic fee until afterwards. This short shows the Taskrol sequence: the customer signs the diagnostic authorization before the machine is opened, and the wording says the fee is due whether or not a repair is approved.
After the diagnosis the same job can carry up to three estimates instead of one take-it-or-leave-it price. The customer opens a link, picks the option they want, and signs it. That estimate becomes the invoice. The option they turned down stays on the job as Not selected — a record of what was offered, months later.

The full narration, if you would rather read than watch.
Nobody argues about the diagnostic fee — until afterwards. So he signs for it before the machine is opened: due whether or not he approves the repair. After the diagnosis the job can carry up to three estimates. Not one price to argue with — a choice.
One with the pressure switch, one without — a hundred dollars apart, both on the same job. He opens the link and picks one himself. One tap, not a phone call. He approves it and signs, and that estimate stops being an estimate.
That estimate is the invoice now — approved, dated, and signed. One approved, one not selected. And he pays the approved one right here. One job, one invoice.
